The new Samanabad cricket stadium, which would cost more than Rs510 million, received approval from the Punjab government on Friday.
The new stadium would be built on a 49.5 Kanal plot of land at Ghazali Road in Samanabad.
The stadium will contain three modern pavilions with a combined seating capacity of 500 spectators: a VIP Pavilion, a Public Pavilion, and a Players Pavilion.
On the grounds of the stadium, a cafeteria, administrative space, and public restrooms will all be built, along with parking for 50 cars and 100 motorcycles.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Engineering Wing-II of the Planning and Development (P&D) division proposed the concept of building a new cricket stadium.
The Punjab government approved this scheme on priority bases for the reason of existing in the constituency of the Provincial Housing Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
