Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government has introduced a groundbreaking housing scheme aimed at providing 100,000 apartments to citizens across six cities. These apartments will be available with monthly installments as low as Rs 26,000, making homeownership more accessible to a wider demographic.
Media reports indicate that the apartments will be priced at a total of Rs 1.5 million each, presenting an affordable option for aspiring homeowners. The Housing Department has submitted initial recommendations for the ‘Apni Chat, Apna Ghar’ project, which is set to launch in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Sargodha initially.
To facilitate the construction of these apartments, the Punjab government will offer a 60 percent subsidy, allowing prospective homeowners to pay only 40 percent of the total cost in installments. For instance, in Lahore, the construction of 5,000 apartments is planned along Raiwind Road.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has been proactive in implementing various schemes for the underprivileged segments of society in the province. In a recent high-level meeting chaired by her, the progress of the housing project was discussed, with the Board of Revenue presenting 17 potential development sites for further evaluation.
How to Apply
Recognizing the urgency of the initiative, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz instructed officials to expedite site selection in key cities such as Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi.
