The Punjab caretaker administration announced a 35% pay hike for government officials in grades 1-16 on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the government has also approved a 30% pay increase for personnel in grades 17-22.
In addition, the province administration approved a 17.5 percent increase in pensions. According to the notification, the compensation rise would be based on the present basic salary of government employees.
It should be mentioned that government employees in Punjab have been protesting for a pay increase. The protests ended with the federal government’s promise.
