A Qatari naval ship, Al Khor, arrived in Karachi this week to engage in joint exercises and bilateral training with the Pakistan Navy, the navy confirmed in a statement.
These regular exercises between Pakistan and friendly nations aim to boost maritime cooperation, and regional security, and enhance tactical operations, including counter-terrorism efforts. The joint exercise, Asad Al Bahr, is a testament to Pakistan’s commitment to collaborating with allies on maritime security.
Upon its arrival, Al Khor received a warm welcome from Pakistan Navy officers and sailors. During its stay, the ship’s commanding officer visited the mausoleum of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, to pay homage, and met with Vice Admiral Faisal Abbasi, Pakistan Fleet Commander. The discussions centered around mutual interests and strengthening bilateral ties.
The Qatari commander also praised the Pakistan Navy’s role in promoting peace and security in the region.
