The first eight months of the current fiscal year have seen a 3% yearly growth in remittances from Pakistanis working in the US.
The State Bank of Pakistan said that between July 2022 and February 2023, Pakistanis working in the United States sent $1.973 billion in foreign currency home. The sum is 3% higher than it was at the same time period the prior fiscal year.
The American-Pakistanis sent the nation $1.917 billion in foreign currency over the time period under review from the previous fiscal year. The amount of remittances from the US in February totaled $219 million, which is 4% greater than what was sent in the same month last year.
The amount of remittances from America in February of previous year was estimated at $211 million. Remittances from the US increased by 3% month over month in February compared to January.
The amount of foreign currency remitted to Pakistan by Pakistanis residing and working in the US grew to $219 million in February from $214 million in January.
