Prominent religious scholar Dr. Zakir Naik is scheduled to visit Pakistan next month. Trained as a medical doctor, Dr. Naik is widely recognized as an influential international speaker on Islam and Comparative Religion. Over the past 24 years, he has delivered more than 2,000 public talks in over 40 countries, each followed by open Q&A sessions.
Several Facebook pages affiliated with the Central Muslim League Karachi have announced his upcoming visit, during which he is expected to address a congregation at Badshahi Mosque in Lahore on October 11.
In a recent interview with a Pakistani YouTuber, Dr. Naik shared significant moments from his life, garnering millions of views within hours. When asked why he chose Malaysia over Pakistan after leaving India, he stated, “It would have been easier for me to go to Pakistan. I have visited before and have many supporters there.” He elaborated, referencing an Islamic principle: “Sharia teaches us to accept a lesser harm to avoid a greater one. Had I moved to Pakistan, India would have labeled me an ISI agent and spread false propaganda, harming my institution and hindering my mission to spread the teachings of Islam.”
Notably, Dr. Naik first visited Pakistan in 1991.
