The Sindh government has announced the launch of Rescue 1122 service in the Larkana district, following the successful implementation of the service in Karachi.
Chief Secretary Sindh Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput made the announcement while presiding over a review meeting of Rescue 1122 Services. Rajput stated that the service would soon be expanded to all major cities in Sindh province.
The meeting was attended by Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho, Health Secretary Zulfiqar Shah, Finance Secretary Sajid Jamal Abro, Shazina Masud, CEO Sindh Integrated Emergency and Health Services (SIEHS) and others.
He further said that the Rescue 1122 service would be launched in Thatta and Sujawal, and soon 315 ambulances would be added to Rescue 1122.
About Rescue 1122 Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab Tweeted; Happy to share & announce that after Karchi, Rescue 1122 Ambulance Service has also started its operations in Larkana. Next stop Insha’Allah will be Districts Thatta & Sujawal.
The 1122 service will be available for all residents of the province, and all emergency departments will operate through Rescue 1122. In the event of an emergency, people will need to contact the 1122 service only.
At the meeting, Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the fire brigade will also be operated through Rescue 1122 from today. In case of any emergency, 1122 will be approached and an ambulance and fire brigade will also come for the rescue operation.
Funds are being released for Ambulance services under 1122 and ambulances are being handed over from Sindh Resilience Project to Sindh Integrated Emergency and Health Services (SIEHS). A total of 315 ambulances will operate in the province, the meeting was told.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah last month launched Sindh Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in Karachi.
