The Salaries and Benefits of Pakistani MNAs. The comprehensive compensation package for Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) of Pakistan has been disclosed, offering insights into their substantial financial benefits. Each MNA receives a basic monthly salary of Rs150,000. In addition to this, they are granted allowances amounting to Rs38,000, culminating in a total monthly income of Rs188,000.

For those who chair Standing Committees, the financial benefits are even more generous. These chairpersons are awarded an additional honorary allowance of Rs25,000, which brings their total monthly income to Rs213,000.

Furthermore, MNAs are provided with a per diem of Rs8,800 for each session they attend, whether it be a National Assembly or Standing Committee meeting. This daily allowance underscores the financial support available for their legislative duties.

Travel benefits for MNAs are also notable. They receive Rs150 per kilometer for business class air travel and Rs25 per kilometer for road travel. Additionally, each MNA is allotted travel vouchers worth Rs300,000 annually, a cash allowance of Rs90,000, and 30 business class open tickets per year.

These revelations highlight the significant financial benefits afforded to Pakistani MNAs. The substantial allowances, travel perks, and additional benefits raise questions about the overall cost and sustainability of the parliamentary system in Pakistan.
