Prior to their match against Fortune Barishal on Saturday, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) team Comilla Victorians had Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan brought in via helicopter.
The Bangladeshi newspaper Prothom Alo claims that Rizwan arrived in Dhaka at 10:20 a.m. local time, boarded a helicopter, and arrived at the Women’s Sports Complex ground next to the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram at 12:45 p.m.
The Pakistani player arrived an hour or so before the game and was added to the starting lineup.
Rizwan was included in Pakistan’s playing XI for the third and final ODI of the series against New Zealand on Friday, it should be mentioned. As soon as the game in Karachi ended, he left for the airport.
The Victorians were given a target of 178 runs after choosing to field first, after Barishal’s captain Shakib Al Hasan hit an unbeaten 45-ball 81.
Rizwan was removed while trying to reach the target after hitting two sixes to help him get 18 runs in 11 balls.
Victorians scored 165-7 in 20 overs but were still 12 runs short of the mark. Khushdil Shah scored an unbeaten 43 runs in 27 balls, with the help of four and four sixes, but it was not enough for his team to get over the line.
