Since its launch in September 2020, the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) has evolved into a significant contributor to foreign inflows, recording a total of $7.195 billion by the end of December 2023.
The State Bank of Pakistan’s data, released on Monday, revealed that December witnessed an inflow of $160 million, showcasing a notable improvement compared to previous months.
This inflow marked a 17% increase from the $137 million received in November 2023. The RDA initiative enables non-resident Pakistanis (NRPs) to remotely open accounts with designated
Pakistani banks, offering online banking services for activities such as fund transfers, utility payments, educational expenses, and investments in Pakistan. Since its inception, the RDA has consistently attracted substantial monthly inflows, maintaining an average above $200 million.
