The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Karachi today to sight the moon for Zilhajj, marking the beginning of the Islamic month in which Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated. The meeting will be chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
Simultaneously, zonal meetings will take place in provincial capitals and Islamabad, 30 minutes before Maghrib prayer, to facilitate the moon sighting process.
Earlier, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council predicted that the moon would likely be sighted on June 7, indicating that Eid-ul-Azha would fall on Monday, June 17, according to Secretary General Khalid Ijaz Mufti.
