In the interbank currency market on Friday, the Pakistani rupee fell by one paisa versus the US dollar.
The rupee closed at Rs168.19 versus the US dollar, down one paisa from the previous closing of Rs168.18, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
On Thursday, the rupee gained Rs1.52 versus the US dollar in the interbank market, a day after hitting an all-time low of Rs169.12. Following the central bank’s involvement, the rupee recovered some of its losses.
During the previous four months, the value of the US dollar has increased by Rs16.67.
During the fiscal year 2020-21, which concluded on June 30, the local unit gained by 6.2 percent, or Rs10.51, versus the US dollar in the currency market.
