Adventure athlete Samar Khan has made history by ascending Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, and becoming the first Pakistani woman to snowboard down the 5,642-metre mountain.
Hailing from Dir district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Samar reached the summit at 10 am local time and proudly hoisted Pakistan’s flag. She is the first Pakistani woman to achieve this remarkable milestone.
“I’m pleased to announce that I have successfully climbed Europe’s highest peak, Mt. Elbrus, and snowboarded down, becoming the first Pakistani to pioneer this feat in the world of action sports,” she shared on Instagram.
Samar detailed her journey, stating, “I set out for the summit push around 3 am and reached the top by 10 am with a green flag, followed by an exhilarating snowboarding descent from Elbrus.” She expressed her gratitude to everyone for their support.
