Dr. Jennifer Wortham, CEO of Global Collaborative, presented the renowned Global Collaborative Award to Chairperson Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Sarah Ahmed in Rome, Italy in recognition of her significant contributions to the protection of children.
Leading child protection organizations from around the world reportedly attended an event hosted by the Global Collaborative in Rome, Italy, to commemorate the United Nations’ declaration of November 18 as the World Day for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse, Exploitation, and Violence last week.
The Collaborative honored ten people who are making a significant contribution to the fight against child abuse. The honorees included the chair of the CPWB, Sarah Ahmed, the director of child protection for UNICEF, the CEO of Child USA, the first lady of Sierra Leone, professors from Harvard University, actor Tyler Perry, and others.
Speaking to Pakistan Today from Italy, Sarah Ahmed said that obtaining such a prestigious award was an honor for both her and Pakistan. She dedicated the prize to the country’s youngsters.
“I thank Chairman Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for their utmost support in the cause of child protection. I have added responsibility now toward child protection and will continue to work with greater zeal. I am grateful for the support extended to me by Chairman Imran Khan and the Punjab Government to deliver the goods,” she said.
She also added that her aim is to provide protection to all destitute and neglected children and to curb child exploitation.
