Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has implemented cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
The initiative aims to optimize the experience for visitors and pilgrims by delivering personalized guidance and counseling content. A team of religious scholars curates bespoke information for various occasions, ensuring its relevance.
To accommodate diverse linguistic backgrounds, a dedicated translation team works around the clock. A total of 52 screens, spanning 279 square meters, strategically placed inside and outside the mosque provide tailored guidance.
Additionally, an AI-powered guidance robot offers essential materials and allows users to access information on their mobile phones, combining modernization with the preservation of cultural and religious significance.
This comprehensive approach enhances the overall pilgrimage experience, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to melding tradition with technological advancements.
