The Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls provide funding for graduate education at any HEC-accredited university in Pakistan. These bursaries, funded by the Scottish Government, aim to make higher education more accessible to women, assisting them in reaching their full potential and aspiration.
Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls are also available at the undergraduate level for a four-year bachelor’s degree.
The British Council will manage the initiative in Pakistan, coordinating with selected academics and universities either directly or through university focal points.
The Award
The Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls Scheme will provide awardees with the following benefits:
- Tuition fees for courses in eligible fields
- University hostel costs (where applicable)
- Travel to and from home to university two times a year for students staying in on-campus hostels
Subject Areas
The scholarship will support a four-year bachelor’s degree at a Pakistani public institution recognised by HEC in one of the following subject areas only:
- Education
- Sustainable Energy
- Food Security and Agriculture
- Health Sciences
Eligibility Criteria
These scholarships are open to female applicants only.
In addition, applicants must:
- Be Pakistani nationals currently residing in Pakistan
- Be pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree in the above-listed subject areas
- Hold a confirmed admission offer from an HEC recognised university in Pakistan
- Young women with disabilities, from rural areas and/or minority groups are encouraged to apply.
