The Karachi traffic police have proposed a traffic diversion plan in conjunction with the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8) matches that will be played at the National Bank Cricket Arena Karachi from February 14 to 26.
A specific traffic strategy for parking and other routes for cricket fans had been created, the official claimed.
Traffic plan for media persons
When coming from Karsaz, media representatives should park their cars at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground, which are accessible from Sir Shah Suleman Road via the Stadium Flyover and Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road.
After crossing Stadium Road and Sir Shah Sulaiman Road, media representatives arriving from Millennium Mall should park their cars at The National Coaching Centre, China Ground, on the right side of the stadium flyover (Pir Sabghatullah Shah Rashidi Road).
After passing the Aga Khan Hospital on Sir Shah Sulaiman Road via Stadium Road, media personnel should park their cars near the National Coaching Center/China Ground on the left side of the road (Pir Sabghatullah Shah Rashidi Road).
Parking arrangements
Fans travelling from different parts of Karachi can park at Dalmia close to Garib Nawaz Football Ground. They will be required to present the original identity card and the parking match ticket. They will be transported by shuttle from the ground to the National Stadium.
Hassan Square Bridge, Liaquatabad No. 10, and Stadium Road will not be open to vehicular traffic. Similarly, while traffic will still be able to travel from Stadium Road to Hassan Square, it will not be permitted to travel in the direction of the stadium from University Road’s Expo Centre turning.
From Stadium Signal to Hassan Square, all sorts of heavy traffic will be prevented from entering. The public is requested to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and traffic police to avoid trouble.
