The current wave of terrorism in the country, the federal government has strengthened the security of the Parliament House by deploying Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel.
The capital police has officially made it illegal for outsiders to enter Parliament House’s premises.
Moreover, all scheduled meetings of standing committees have been postponed for an indefinite period.
After a suicide attack in Islamabad that resulted in the death of a police officer and the injuries of four more officers, security was stepped up. Head Constable Adeel Hussain was the name of the martyred police officer.
Special security plan issued
After the suicide bombing in the I-10 Sector, the Islamabad police recently published a specific security strategy in response to the potential threat of a terrorist strike.
According to the security strategy announced by the Capital Police, temporary security checks have been set up at 25 various locations across Islamabad, and cameras in Safe City will record when Red Zones are entered.
According to a statement from the police, video of passengers using the metro bus service will also be recorded.
The police in Islamabad advise residents to keep their IDs on them at all times and to put number plates provided by the excise office on their vehicles.
“Legal action will be taken against illegal number plates and unregistered vehicles,” police said, adding that foreign nationals should also carry their identification documents.
Police have additionally advised residents to register prospective tenants and workers at the local police station. The police statement stated that “citizens hiring unregistered local or foreign workers will also be investigated.”
