Shadab Khan, a Pakistan all-rounder, gave an all-round masterclass in his T20 Blast return for Sussex on Thursday, backing up his four-for with a fast 28-run knock against Gloucestershire.
Shadab Khan, who was ruled out of Sussex’s T20 Blast encounter against Kent, made a spectacular return to the side with a match-winning all-round performance.
After right-arm Sussex pacer Aristides Karvelas demolished Gloucestershire’s top order, Shadab Khan compounded their woes by dismissing opening batter Grant Roelofsen in the ninth over, who hit a counter-attacking 41.
Shadab Khan then further harmed Gloucestershire’s batting march by dismissing Oliver Price (19) and compatriot Zafar Gohar (10) in his next two overs, reducing the opposition to 89/6 in the 13th over.
He then dismissed Tom Price in the same over to clinch his four-wicket haul and return with the incredible statistics of 4/27 in his four overs.
Shadab Khan and Aristides Karvelas each took four wickets, propelling Sussex to a 140-run victory over Gloucestershire.
Sussex comfortably completed the chase in the 14th over for the loss of just three wickets, including Shadab’s scorching cameo of 28 runs.
