Shadab Khan, Captain of Islamabad United, Jokes about Losing to Friends in PSL. In a lighthearted statement, Islamabad United’s Captain Shadab Khan expressed his concern about losing to his friends and teammates during the upcoming season eight of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The tournament begins on February 13th in Multan, with Shadab leading the two-time champions.
During an interview with the PCB Podcast on Tuesday, Shadab shared, “When I play in the PSL, I’m extra focused because I don’t want to lose to my teammates and close friends. Otherwise, they tease me about it the whole year.”
Shadab also emphasized the crucial role that the PSL has played in his growth as a cricketer.
“What I am today is solely due to PSL. I entered in this competition as an Emerging Category player, but this tournament gave me the opportunity, belief, and confidence to grow and develop as a cricketer and I am pleased that I am now a Platinum Category player,” he said.
In an interview, Shadab Khan, captain of Islamabad United, reflected on the impact that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) had on his cricket career. He shared that when he first started playing cricket, he only saw himself as a promising player at the U19 or domestic level. However, after being given the opportunity in the first season of PSL, he was able to showcase his abilities as a leg-spinner and deceive Kumar Sangakkara, one of the world’s best batsmen at the time.
This experience boosted his confidence and allowed him to believe in himself, leading to further success as an all-rounder. He said, “PSL provided me with the platform to showcase my captaincy and batting abilities, establish myself as a useful and effective all-rounder, and develop my mental toughness.”
