Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been named an honorary officer of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
Chief of police Muazzam Ansari announced Afridi as their goodwill ambassador at a ceremony on Monday.
Afridi thanked the police for their services to citizens in his remarks.
“I have a close relationship with the police as my father served as a policeman and my brother is an active policeman,” he said.
“Police officers and all security officials are the true heroes of our country. They deserve all the respect and honor,” added Afridi who donned a police officer’s uniform.
