Tonight, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to address the country.
The prime minister is expected to discuss the 16-month performance of the coalition government of the Pakistan Democratic Movement and the PPP in his anticipated farewell address to the country.
Other topics Shehbaz Sharif is likely to discuss are the country’s economic and political status. He is also expected to give some light on the PDM government’s policies in the international affairs, investment, and energy sectors.
The prime minister is also expected to express gratitude to the PML-N’s coalition partners in the allied government for their cooperation during the PDM’s 16-month tenure.
Farewell guard of honor
Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz Sharif travelled to Lahore after forwarding the report of the caretaker prime minister’s appointment to the President’s House.
The PM is expected to be accorded a guard of honor after Anwaarul Haq Kakar is sworn in as caretaker prime minister on August 14th, Independence Day.
Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to return to Islamabad on Monday, August 14, according to Prime Minister House sources.
He will take part in the oath-taking ceremony of caretaker Prime Minister-designate Anwaarul Haq Kakar and then formally bid farewell to the Prime Minister’s House after inspecting his farewell guard of honor.
According to sources, caretaker Prime Minister-designate Kakar will be sworn in on August 14 at 3 p.m. at the President’s House in Islamabad.
The schedule of the important event will be issued by the Cabinet Division.
