The Sindh education department has stopped the disbursement of salaries of over 2,000 ghost teachers across the province.
According to information, the 2,019 ghost teachers’ salaries were to be stopped when the Sindh education department filed a letter to the provincial accountant general.
The AG Sindh has seized the payment of salaries to the “ghost teachers” in accordance with the education department’s letter.
Teachers who are getting their pay while remaining at home will have their employment terminated, according to Sindh’s education secretary Akbar Laghari.
Salary payments to 144 ghost teachers from the districts of Karachi, Hyderabad, and Mirpurkhas, 464 in Qambar, Jacobabad, and Dadu, and 182 in Benazirabad have been halted.
Additionally, the wages of 155 ghost instructors in Larkana, 128 in Sanghar, 89 in Naushero Feroze, and 128 in Shikarpur have been identified.
