The Sindh government has decided to develop an international quality tourist resort near Keenjhar Lake in order to provide picnickers with tourism facilities.
Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh presided over a steering committee meeting that made the decision. The Kuwait Investment Agency briefed the group on the development of a world-level resort on Keenjhar Lake.
Imtiaz Sheikh, speaking on the occasion, stated that the Sindh government is working on a plan to transform Keenjhar Lake into an international quality resort with all modern tourism facilities.
The energy minister also stated that Kenjhar Lake spans 24 kilometres and that a suitable location for the construction of a modern resort is being sought.
Keenjhar Lake is located in the Thatta District of Sindh, Pakistan. It is around 36 kilometres (22 miles) from the city of Thatta.
It is Pakistan’s largest freshwater lake and a vital supply of drinking water for Thatta District and Karachi.
