On June 10, the provincial authorities of the country’s southeastern region will present the budget for the following fiscal year 2023-24.
According to media reports, the Sindh provincial budget would be presented in the Sindh Assembly today at 3 p.m. The overall budget is estimated to be around Rs2100 billion, with over Rs400 billion set aside for development.
Meanwhile, government employees’ pay is set to rise by 35 to 40 percent. More than Rs100 billion has been set aside for development in the provincial capital of Karachi.
Rehabilitation of infrastructure damaged during the last year’s floods was added to the development budget.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called a meeting of the Sindh cabinet at 11 am on Saturday to approve the budget. Provincial ministers, CM’s aides, special assistants, and officers will attend the meeting.
