The government has finalized the Single National Curriculum (SNC) for kids of grades 6 to 8 in all public and private schools. The government will formally announce it today (Friday).
Director of National Curriculum Council Dr. Maryam Chughtai said in an interview with Radio Pakistan.
She also said that under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the new SNC will implement from August this year.
She said Single National Curriculum is based on compulsory subjects Maths, Science, Computer, and English. It will ensure the equal standard of concepts and education of all children.
The Director also said that their administration is committed to end discrimination among children in all institutes across the country.
Moreover, She said that the government adopted SNC from grades one-five last year after all stakeholders reached an agreement.
In August 2021, Education Minister termed the SNC a milestone to end disparity in the education system.
Addressing a press conference at the Press Information Department (PID), the minister said that:
The government has launched SNC from class I to 5 in schools and seminaries in all areas except Sindh.
“We are hopeful Sindh too will adopt SNC at a later stage. I will hold meetings with the education minister and the chief minister of Sindh soon,” he said.
It is for the first time in the history of the country that the government has prepared SNC. It is indeed a great achievement of the PTI government, he also said.
“Monday is going to be a highly auspicious day for the country as the prime minister will officially launch the SNC,” Mr. Mahmood said.
Moreover, He added that all private, public schools and seminaries are bound to teach SNC-based books, which were available in markets.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan officially launched SNC in Pakistan last year.
