In a tragic incident reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Superintendent of Police (SP) Ijaz Khan was martyred, and three other officials, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), sustained injuries during a counter-terrorism encounter in Mardan’s Zada Mata area.
The exchange of fire between law enforcement agencies and terrorists resulted in the brave SP Ijaz Khan losing his life, confirmed by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) spokesman. The injured officials, including the DSP, were promptly taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
The intelligence-driven operation targeted terrorists in the Katling area of Mardan, leading to the neutralization of two wanted militants. The funeral prayers for the martyred SP Ijaz Khan were held solemnly at the Police Lines, with District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan and other dignitaries from the law enforcement fraternity in attendance.
In another unfortunate incident, police officer Qaisar Khan was martyred when he was shot by motorcyclists in Peshawar on Monday night. The funeral prayer for Qaisar Khan took place at Malik Saad Police Lines, attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kashif Aftab Abbasi and other police officials.
