The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has expedited the procedure for giving Sukkur Airport international status and the study for airport expansion is now complete.
The survey for the extension of Sukkur Airport to make it an international airport has reportedly been finished and its report has been submitted to CAA, according to CAA sources.
For the airport’s expansion, Rs. 8 billion has been set for in the budget. Sources claim that the Sukkur Airport would get a new runway and terminal building.
After the runway was extended, larger aircraft, like Airbus, could land at the Sukkur Airport. The airport would include immigration counters once it was given international status.
