The Tecno Spark 8 is the latest cheap phone from the Chinese manufacturer, which has just recently been available in Nigeria. The phone comes with a big display and a hefty battery for $130. The handset should be available in more locations soon.
Higlights and Layout:
The display is a 6.5-inch LCD with 720p resolution and a waterdrop notch for a selfie camera. The rear panel has a unique design with a large hole for the primary camera and fingerprint sensor, but more than half of it is blank.
The backside also has a big “Stop At Nothing” motto.
Storage and Internals:
The MediaTek Helio P22 SoC with 2GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage is under the hood, but there is also a microSD card slot for an extension.
In terms of software, the phone runs Android 11 Go Edition, a stripped-down version of Android 11 designed for low-cost handsets.
Cameras:
A 16MP primary camera and a QVGA secondary lens, as well as an LED flash module, are housed in the big square cutout on the rear. A selfie camera with an 8MP resolution is housed in the waterdrop notch.
Price and Capacity:
The 5,000 mAh battery is more than sufficient to power the phone for 2-3 days. Fast charging is not supported.
The Tecno Spark 8 costs $130 in Nigeria, and the price may vary slightly in other countries.
