Millions of Pakistani families receive the most economical electricity from the Thar Block-1 Integrated Coal Mine Power Plant, an open-pit coal mine with an annual lignite output of 7.8 million tonnes and a total capacity of 1,320 megawatts.
Gul Hassan, a mining engineer with Sino Sindh Resources (Pvt.) Ltd. (SSRL), stated in an interview after being recognized by the Chinese embassy as an excellent employee of CPEC projects. According to him, the Thar Block-1 initiative had a significant role in the transformation of Thar residents’ life.
Gul organized training for 5,000 Pakistani workers collectively, by specialty, and by post, in addition to strictly implementing safety control measures for mining, stripping, dumping, and traffic in open pit coal mines, CEN reported on Thursday. Gul also translated Chinese mine management materials like “Coal Mine Safety Regulations” into English and Urdu.
Gul claimed that numerous steps had been taken by the project management team to assure security, energy conservation, and emission reduction in order to maintain ecological balance.
Typically, it coordinates events for safe production month, screens for hidden dangers establishes rules and competitions, and raises public awareness of environmental responsibility and safety. A beautiful and clean Thar is being created in the meantime through environmental preservation measures and afforestation.
There is a region there that is not very developed. More than 18,000 locals have received direct work possibilities as a result of the Thar Block-1 Integrated Coal Mining Power Project, and Mazhar Ali Khan is one of them who, like Gul Hassan, has motivated the other employees and exemplified the Thar spirit. Mazhar Ali Khan’s efforts has significantly aided in the grid connection of the power plant by serving as a conduit between the operating team and the National Power Control Center (NPCC).
