In the Foreign Minister’s 2021 list of Honours for his contribution to Pakistan’s technological scene to create the first Unicorn in the Middle East, Mudassir Sherika, CEO & Co-founder of Careem, was bestowed with the Special Honoree.
The list is an effort of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan’s foreign minister, to contact the Pakistani people abroad.
The topic this year was “Leaders under 40,” who are committed to recognizing excellent young Pakistanis from around the world.
The list of persons who contributed to Pakistan’s pride was published on 14 August 2021 as part of the independence day festivities.
The prize recipients were picked for their contribution in the areas of enterprise, science and innovation, community services, sports, and the arts and culture, with a good record of innovations.
Sheikha Mudassir, CEO & Co-founder said: “I am honored that the Foreign Office of Pakistan is recognizing such a milestone. From the first day, our aim in Careem has been to simplify and enhance people’s lives in the region, and we will strive to do so with the love and support of everybody.

As part of the Plan Foreign Office in 2020, the List of Honours of the Foreign Minister was created to broaden the institution’s connection and reach with important stakeholders across the world.
The list’s initial edition was based on Pakistani participation in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
