General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), spoke with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mohamed wished General Munir well in his new role as Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff at the meeting held at Qasr Al Shati Palace and congratulated him on his appointment. Munir gave the President his gratitude and appreciation.
The two sides discussed methods to improve the cooperation relationships and cooperative work between the UAE and Pakistan in defence and military matters in order to serve the shared interests of the two friendly nations.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the parties also discussed matters of mutual interest and strategies to advance bilateral relations. Khalid bin Salman, the Saudi Arabian minister of defence, as well as other representatives from the country and Pakistan, attended the meeting.
The Saudi Crown Prince congratulated Gen. Asim Munir on his appointment as head of the Pakistani Army during the meeting. They also decided to improve their mutually beneficial ties.
The head of the Pakistani Army had performed Umrah and prayed within the Holy Kaaba the day before.
