During an ICC meeting, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presented a comprehensive update on the country’s progress, detailing ongoing stadium renovations and facility upgrades. He assured the council that everything is proceeding as planned, with all remaining work expected to be completed ahead of schedule.
The ICC board members were also assured that all preparations would be finalized well before the tournament’s commencement. Naqvi further extended a formal invitation to the ICC board members to visit Pakistan before the 2025 event, allowing them to personally review the progress.
However, uncertainty remains over India’s participation. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to approve any plans for their team to travel to Pakistan, pending clearance from the Indian government. This decision could mark the first encounter between the two nations since the T20 World Cup in June, as they continue to face each other only in ICC-sanctioned tournaments.
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.
