As Pakistan’s first movie to surpass PKR150 crore, The Legend of Maula Jatt’s winning run continues! More than PKR 150 crore have been made at the Pakistani and foreign box offices thanks to the film’s director, Bilal Lashari.
The tweet from the movie’s official Twitter account contained the announcement. A tweet stated, “The Legend of Maula Jatt breaks a new record for Pakistani cinema with 150 Crore, taking the global box office by storm.”
Lashari took to social media, expressing gratitude for the outpour of love and support. “You did it!” he wrote.
The Legend of Maula Jatt has succeeded in deposing popular Indian movies at the UK box office in less than 20 days since its premiere. Previously, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra was edging over Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan’s epic at the UK box office. The Ayan Mukerji-directed film has since been surpassed by the Ammara Hikmat production.
The movie has made £1.045 million at the box office, while Brahmastra has made £1.036 million. The movie from Lashari can’t be stopped.
The director had already written a note on the day his eagerly anticipated project was released. Before the star-studded premiere of his remade 1979 classic, the 38-year-old director said on his Instagram account, “An unattainable dream, that is who you were a decade ago.” “You are no longer a figment of my imagination or the creation of a dreamer; you are real now. What a journey that has been!”
As Lashari put it, “It’s finally time for me to say goodbye to you tonight. You must let me leave so that I can dream a new, unwritten tale of a different realm.”
Earlier this week, the makers announced that the film had crossed Rs100 crores globally. Lashari, producer Ammara Hikmat and the star-studded cast of the hit film congratulated the audience for propelling 1979’s reboot on the run to becoming Pakistan’s most successful film to date.
The Legend of Maula Jatt stars Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick, Gohar Rasheed, and Faris Shafi in pivotal roles.Â
