In a move to promote brilliant and deserving students of the province, the government of Punjab introduced the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme.
To put the plan into action, the Punjab Higher Education Commission and a number of private universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Under this plan, the government will offer students with scholarships worth Rs 7 billion this year. The Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme is scheduled to be completed in seven years with a total budget of Rs 131 billion.
However, the budget will be increased by 10% per year to guarantee that more students benefit from the plan.
By the end of the program, over 30,000 Punjab students would have received financial aid, allowing them to pursue higher education and fulfill their academic goals.
