An NGO that has turned into a household name in Pakistan today and the reason is evident. With selfless and uncountable hours of service and resources, all devoted to helping others. The aim of the organization as said on its official website is a beautiful Ayah of the Quran, ‘Those who spend in charity will be richly awarded.’ (57:10). This is what has indeed made it a source of inspiration for each and every Pakistani, let alone the residents of Karachi.
With the presence of the legendary Abdul Sattar Edhi, all of Karachi looked up to him for help. With JDC, there is now a new face to welfare. From the day the lockdown had been imposed, JDC knew it had a huge role to play. From delivering food supplies at doorsteps to arranging massive quantities during Ramadan, it managed to stay at the forefront no matter what. Covering all nook and corners of the city, it managed to distribute resources with all absolute transparency. Apart from that, JDC has now set up Pakistan’s first free private COVID-19 hospital. Instead, it has been over performing in the toughest of times of human history.
