On this day 14th August 2022, NUST Airworks through the support of HBL (Habib Bank Limited) is participating in Teknofest 2022 with its decentralized swarm of drones that are deployed for search and rescue missions. The drones will collaboratively search markers placed on the ground and will deliver payloads to respective markers in a decentralized manner. This competition is being held at Kutahya, Turkiye from 9th-14th August. The team set off for this memorable journey on the 6th of August to Ankara, Turkey. From there, they went to the competition site which is at Zafertepe Airport, Kutahya.
There, the team also got a chance to see various UAVs employed by the Turkish Armed Forces as well as their scaled models. The team got a chance to meet the MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY
Mustafa Varank appreciated the team’s efforts in developing a truly unmanned aerial system.
Team NUST Airworks is an undergraduate student team, based in NUST-PNEC, that designs and manufactures fully autonomous drones. The team has been competing on a national and international stage since 2016.
Since 2018, the team has been representing Pakistan at the U.K’s IMechE UAS Challenge, one of the most prestigious university-level drone competitions internationally. The team has won 9 awards in 3 years, including the titles:

3. Runner Up, 2021

The primary focus of our project is to make it as economically feasible as possible and take Pakistan a step ahead in the field of drone technology.
