On Friday, A three-day snow festival has been inaugurated in the Galiyat by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali.
Speaking on the occasion he said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is taking steps to promote tourism in the province and developing more facilities at popular tourist spots.
He added that potential new tourist locales are also being surveyed to increase local and foreign tourism.
A Galiyat Development Authority spokesperson told APP that numerous activities and contests will be organized at the festival including hiking, survival camp, sculpture making, tug of war, paintball competitions, archery, snow-tubing and a quad bike race.
A live music concert, in which singers Raheel Abbas and Bilal Saeed and the Khumariyan band will perform, will also be part of the event.
Meanwhile, the three-day Kalam snow festival is also underway and will include traditional games such as kabaddi and Angor Goshi as well as music and poetry sessions. The event has been organized by the Regional Sports Office, Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As per an APP report, “presentation of Khattak Dance, Rubab performance, Kakashi demonstrations, drama skits,” will also take place.
