According to the airline’s general manager for Islamabad and the north, Ali Battal, Turkish Airlines intends to expand its operations in Pakistan to offer the best services to businessmen and the general public.
The airline was connecting Pakistan with various nations, according to Battal, who was speaking at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), and this would strengthen relations between Pakistan and Turkey on a bilateral basis.
He gave the business community the assurance that Turkish Airlines will support ICCI delegates on their international business travels and added that Pakistan and Turkey were friendly nations because they shared a common religion and culture. At the event, ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari stated that improving commerce between Pakistan and Turkey required tight cooperation between the two countries.
He emphasized the significance of direct flight connections in fostering commercial and inter-human interaction and applauded Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Turkish Airlines’ initiative to sign a code-sharing agreement on the occasion of their 75th year of diplomatic relations.
“This will make it possible for travelers from Pakistan to fly from Istanbul to Europe, the UK, and the US, assisting the business community in its efforts to access these markets.”
Pakistan lacks direct aviation connections to Central Asia, while Turkish Airlines offers service to 252 foreign destinations across 122 nations.
Bakhtawari suggested that Turkish Airlines start flights from Istanbul to the Central Asian nations via Pakistan, allowing Islamabad to strengthen its commercial connections with a number of nations. In order to assist the business community and the general population, he requested Turkish Airlines to take into account the beginning of direct flights from Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi to several nations. “The business community will be assisted in exploring various possible markets for trade and exports by at least one flight every week.”
Additionally, he indicated a wish for Turkish Airlines to assist PIA is doing better.
