ISLAMABAD, August 2: Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, emphasized the long-standing historical, friendly, and fraternal relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye. He expressed hope that future generations in both countries will continue to strengthen this bond.

Speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony for the two-week summer camp organized by Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute, Dr. Pacaci highlighted the importance of such activities in bringing younger generations closer, ultimately fortifying the relationship between the two nations.

The Ambassador congratulated the university and the Yunus Emre Institute for successfully arranging the camp.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, noted that Pakistanis and Turks view each other as their second home. He mentioned that Turkish children are eager to learn Urdu, while Pakistani children are enthusiastic about learning Turkish. He also highlighted the cultural and historical similarities between the two countries, symbolized by the moon and star on their flags.

Dr. Zahid Majeed, Director of International Exchange and Collaboration at AIOU, shared that during the 10-day camp, 34 children aged 5 to 13 were taught the Turkish language, calligraphy, and archery, along with the traditional Turkish game Mangala. He also announced plans to organize summer camps in Skardu and Gilgit with the support of the Yunus Emre Institute.

Dr. Halil Toker, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute in Pakistan, emphasized the deep affection Turkish people have for Pakistanis and the importance of passing this love down to the new generation.

The ceremony concluded with children performing Turkish songs and sharing jokes, much to the delight of their parents and university faculty.
