In India, access to the Pakistani government’s Twitter account has been blocked. According to reports, there have been two similar events recently. Indian users cannot access the @GovtofPakistan Twitter feed.
Earlier in July, the Pakistani government’s Twitter account was disabled, but it has since been reopened and was now accessible.
It conveyed the idea that in India, information is withheld. When attempting to access the Twitter handle, the message “@GovtofPakistan account has been withheld in India in response to a court demand” appears.
The UN, Turkey, Iran, and Egyptian embassies of Pakistan were prohibited from using their official Twitter accounts in India in June. For disseminating “false, anti-India propaganda” online later in August of this year, India shut 8 YouTube-based news channels, including one from Pakistan and one Facebook account.
New Delhi restricted several Pakistani YouTube channels, and one Facebook accounts for exposing atrocities under the BJP government.
