Police rescued two christian families from their homes in Sargodha’s Mujahid Colony on Saturday morning. The Sargodha District Police Officer (DPO) Asad Ejaz Malhi reported that the incident began on the basis of alleged desecration. However, the police envoy reached before the violence accelerated. Consequently, there were no fatalities.“When police arrived, the mob had gathered outside the houses. Officers cordoned off the area and safely evacuated all residents” The police was able to not rescue these targets but also dispersed the mob. Elahi stated, “The police peacefully dispersed the crowd.” With this impression that the matter was resolved in peace, the Officer dismissed the social media news as rumours. The multiple videos of a bloodied man and a fire that was circulating were dismissed as “fake videos”. However, a close relative of one of the two christian families has contradicted this public statement by describing his uncle’s critical condition.
