DUBAI — Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Faisal Tirmizi, has outlined the essential requirements for Pakistani visitors seeking a UAE tourist visa to ensure a smooth travel experience.
In a recent interview, Ambassador Tirmizi emphasized that Pakistani tourists must adhere to several key conditions. Travelers are required to possess a return ticket, maintain a minimum of Dh3,000 in funds, and secure hotel accommodation for the duration of their stay.
Tirmizi also highlighted that tourists are expected to engage in sightseeing and leisure activities, such as visiting museums, mosques, and malls. He strongly advised against seeking employment while on a tourist visa, clarifying that those interested in job opportunities should apply for a job-seeker visa or an employment visa before arriving in the UAE.
The ambassador stressed the importance of adhering to UAE laws and regulations, noting that every visitor and resident represents Pakistan abroad. To enforce these guidelines, the Pakistani government has been coordinating with UAE authorities to ensure compliance at the airport for incoming tourists.
Recent reports indicate a growing concern among UAE authorities about non-compliance. The UAE Consul General in Karachi, Bakheet Ateeq al-Remeithi, has reported that some Pakistanis have been engaging in prohibited activities, resulting in severe penalties, including long-term imprisonment. Al-Remeithi also cautioned against spreading negative propaganda about Pakistan or its institutions, as such actions have led to life sentences and deportations.
Despite these issues, al-Remeithi confirmed that there are no new restrictions on UAE visas for Pakistani citizens. The Consulate continues to process visa applications and provide support to Pakistani travelers.
For a hassle-free visit to the UAE, Pakistani travelers are advised to follow these guidelines closely and ensure they comply with all visa and legal requirements.
