ISLAMABAD – The United Kingdom has introduced a simplified visa process for Pakistani travelers, as part of its transition towards a fully digital immigration system, according to a statement from the British High Commission in Islamabad.
UK High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, announced that the UK has extended its e-Visa services to new biometric users, allowing them to access their immigration status online. While a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) online account will be required to use the e-Visa system, tourists and those granted a visa for less than six months will not need to create an account.
“The UK immigration system is going digital,” the statement emphasized, noting that physical documents will soon be replaced with an online immigration status.
High Commissioner Marriott highlighted that this technological advancement will streamline the visa process, making it more secure and reducing the reliance on paper documents. She assured that the new system is free, secure, and easy to use, offering travelers a more efficient way to manage their immigration status.
This initiative is part of the UK’s broader efforts to modernize its immigration system, aiming to enhance security and ease of access for applicants by replacing traditional paper documents with an online status declaration.
