The British Security Agency Department for Transport (DfT) is set to conduct security audits of Pakistani airports on May 30. The assessment program will scrutinize the security measures in place at the international airports in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has already made arrangements for the DfT’s visit.
During the visit, the British delegation will examine various departments, including airport security forces, flight kitchens, and ground handling. Airport managers will also brief the delegation about their respective airports. The purpose of the visit is to assess the security of direct flights from the three Pakistani cities to the UK. The delegation will monitor the screening of passengers’ belongings, the transfer of luggage onto the aircraft, and other security equipment.
The CAA revealed that the British delegation was initially scheduled to visit Pakistan on July 10. However, there has been a change in the date, and the delegation will now arrive on May 30. The visit is expected to ensure the safety of passengers and airlines operating direct flights between Pakistan and the UK.
