In the interbank market, the Pakistani rupee gained 83 paise against the US dollar due to investor enthusiasm on a staff-level agreement between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The PKR gained 83 paise against the USD in interbank trading and is now trading at Rs286.55.
The banks are selling the dollar to importers at Rs287.35, while the greenback is being sold in the open market at Rs289, according to forex dealers.
The rupee closed at Rs287.38 the other day, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.
