ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP): Acting Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, John Bass, met with Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch on Monday to address a range of key bilateral issues, including trade, energy, security, health, climate change, and counter-terrorism.
During the delegation-level talks held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides engaged in extensive discussions on these topics, according to a press release from the Foreign Office Spokesperson.
Foreign Secretary Baloch emphasized the importance Pakistan places on its relations with the United States. She highlighted the need to enhance bilateral mechanisms, particularly in economic and defense sectors, to build a broader and more meaningful relationship.
Under Secretary Bass expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to engage on issues of mutual interest. He reiterated the US’s commitment to partnering with Pakistan in its efforts to strengthen and stabilize its economy.
Bass also acknowledged Pakistan’s resilience in overcoming recent challenges such as floods and terrorist attacks.
Additionally, Under Secretary Bass paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
