Wasim Khan has been appointed ICC General Manager – will begin his duties next month, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Khan, who previously served as CEO of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Leicestershire County Cricket Club, and Chance to Shine, will succeed Geoff Allardice, who held the position for eight years until being named ICC CEO.
“I am delighted to welcome Wasim to the ICC,” Allardice stated. He brings a deep understanding of our sport and its stakeholders, as well as direct experience of the world cricket landscape, which will be invaluable as we implement the ICC global expansion plan and enter a new events cycle.”
“I am honored to be joining the ICC, and I can’t wait to get started and work with our Members to improve and expand our sport,” Khan said. I’m focusing on the ICC’s dedication to the development of the women’s game, and I’m hoping to help to accelerate that progress over the coming decade.”
