WhatsApp seems to be facing a glitch as a number of users are reporting issues with sending and receiving texts on the app. Downdetector, a website that tracks online outages across the globe, has shown a sharp spike in the number of users reporting WhatsApp’s outage.
According to the outage monitor Downdetector, WhatsApp’s messaging service was unavailable to customers on Tuesday.
According to the website’s report, the app went offline just before noon, and #WhatsApp trended on Pakistani Twitter with 13,000 individuals discussing the outage.
There have been no comments from the platform or its parent firm Meta.
Major social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp experienced a significant outage in October 2021 that may have affected tens of millions of users.
Outage tracker Downdetector showed outages in heavily populated areas like Washington and Paris.
