Amidst the wedding festivities becoming a trend among Pakistani cricketers this year, Captain Babar Azam is also gearing up to embark on marital bliss, as per sources reported by Geo News.
The anticipation is that Babar will exchange vows following the ICC World Cup in India later this year.
A close friend of Babar confirmed these reports, revealing that the cricketer’s family envisions a November wedding, right after the significant cricket event.
Sources close to Babar’s circle divulged that his family is keen on the wedding taking place shortly after the World Cup and before Pakistan’s tour to Australia in December.
Interestingly, insiders shared that Babar had initially planned to get married last year, following the T20 World Cup in 2022. However, the wedding was postponed due to certain commitments.
Who is the fortunate bride?
Babar is set to marry his cousin, who happens to be the daughter of his maternal aunt.
Back in 2021, reports had already emerged about Babar’s arranged marriage with his cousin, that he will get married in 2022.
Even his teammates were well aware of this potential arrangement all along.
Earlier this year, fellow Pakistani cricketers including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Shan Masood, and Shadab Khan all entered wedlock, adding to the intrigue around Babar’s upcoming plans.
Notably, Pakistan’s prominent fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi tied the knot with Ansha, Shahid Afridi’s daughter, in a nikkah ceremony held on February 3 this year. The rukhsati will follow post the World Cup, as confirmed by Shahid Afridi himself.
